Mrs. Klinger’s first graders are learning all about the value of coins! 💰🪙 Students practiced counting different coins and then put their skills to work by shopping at a classroom “store.” Each item had a set price, and students had to count out the exact amount before making their purchase. In Foods for Life at the high school, students are learning about the benefits of protein! 💪 Using Ninja Creami machines, they created a higher-protein, healthier version of ice cream. The School District of Somerset will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 23, 2026, due to the dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills forecasted for our region.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for our area. According to the NWS, wind chill values are expected to reach between -30°F and -40°F.
At these levels, frostbite can occur on exposed skin in as little as 10 to 15 minutes. Our primary concern is the safety of our students who walk to school or wait for buses. Spartan Kids Club will remain open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM for students who are already enrolled. Stay safe and stay warm.
