Missoula Theater Opportunity for Somerset Students

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! We are excited to announce that the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) will be visiting our school! MCT is the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, bringing professional directors, costumes, sets, and a full-scale production to communities across the country.

During their week-long residency, students will audition, rehearse, and perform in a musical play—all in just five days! This unique experience gives children the chance to explore creativity, build confidence, and learn teamwork while having fun on stage. All ages K-12 are encouraged to participate, no experience needed!  There will be 60 roles available including 4 assistant directors who will help with the behind-the-scenes action!

Key Details:

  • Auditions:

    • Monday, March 23rd (Somerset Elementary School Stage)

    • Role selection from 3:30pm – 7:45pm.

  • Rehearsals:

    • Tuesday, March 24th 3:30 – 7:45 (Somerset Elementary Stage)

    • Wednesday, March 25th 3:30 – 7:45 (Performing Arts Center)

    • Thursday, March 26th 3:30 – 7:45 (Performing Arts Center)

    • Friday, March 27th 3:30 – 5:30 (Performing Arts Center)

  • Performance:

    • Friday, March 27th 6pm (Performing Arts Center) – cast members need to be at PAC at 3:30pm

    • Saturday, March 28th 2pm (Performing Arts Center) – cast members need to be at PAC at 1pm

  • Cost:

    • $35 to participate (Make check payable to Somerset Parent Group.) We will collect the fee the night of auditions or rehearsals on Tuesday night.

    • If you would like to sponsor a child to be in the cast, you can add additional funds to your check.

    • If your child needs sponsorship please contact your building principal.

No prior theatre experience is necessary—just enthusiasm and commitment to the rehearsal schedule.
