Students in Personal Finance classes at SHS participated in Ca$h Course on January 7th. This is a hands-on, real-world simulation brought to us by WESTconsin Credit Union. The experience is designed to guide students through a day in the life of an adult.
During the simulation students had a “job” along with an income level and expenses. Students were challenged to apply their decision making skills as they navigated everyday financial decisions. Additionally, our students faced realistic scenarios like making purchases, managing budgets, and dealing with the consequences of their choices. This was a safe space to experiment, make mistakes, and learn from them while gaining an understanding of financial responsibility.
A big thank you to the team at WESTconsin Credit Union for bringing this event to our students, to our community volunteers, and Mrs. Emerson (Personal Finance Teacher).
