This elective course offers a wide variety of writing experiences for the students. Personal narratives, short essay topics, formal resumes, letters of application, character sketches, biographical research with interviews, and book reviews are the focus of the course. The writing process is emphasized, with four basic steps: prewriting, writing, revising, and proofreading. The students also use the computers to generate texts and thus become acquainted with and improve their keyboarding skills. Once many of the papers are completed, the students are encouraged to share their work with other students to enhance/improve everyone’s style and perspective on the written word.
