Somerset is part of the Woodworking Career Alliance; which is a nonprofit organization that provides teachers with in-services, information, training and supplies so that students may get a jump on a career in the woodworking industries. Woodworking is flourishing and many jobs are created because of the woodworking industry. This organization is supported by many business partners of the wood industry. By the time a student takes the 3 main woodworking classes here at Somerset High School, he or she will have the abilities to be certified by the Woodworking Career Alliance with a Saw Blade Certificate. This will many times get a foot in the door for a job in the industry.
